U6 PROGRAM OVERVIEW
In accordance to the BCSA Long Term Player Development guidelines for Active Start, the U6 “First Kicks” program teaches age specific technical skills and teamwork through fun exercises and games. Players shall participate in stimulating practices and games that develop basic skill in a FUN atmosphere. The emphasis is on movement exercises and games that promote a feel for the ball while teaching basic principles of play within a fun but structured setting. Players will rotate through stations, with each station focused on developing a specific skill. Informal games shall be set up at the end of practices or as part of a jamboree mixing exercising and games. All players shall play equal time and try all team positions, including goalkeeper.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR SAFETY REASONS, PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR SHIN GUARDS FOR PRACTICES AND GAMES.

Safety requirement – highly recommended that all players wear soccer shoes.
